MONTGOMERY, AL - Alabama state officials recently had a first-hand look at vehicles that will help save money and make their vehicle fleets environmentally friendly, according to WNCF TV.

Representatives of state agencies previewed hybrid vehicles that offer different alternative fuels such as E-85, bio-diesel, propane, electricity, and natural gas.

Under Alabama law, state officials must now review fleet vehicles and come up with a plan for replacing them with greener models. Officials must report current fleet details and costs by the end of September.

State officials hope this initiative will drive cities and counties to turn their fleets green, reported WNCF TV.
