Phase 2 GHG Rules to Curtail Use of Glider Kits

Starting in January of 2021, under the new greenhouse gas regulations, glider kits will be allowed mostly for their original purpose, which was reclaiming late-model powertrains from wrecked trucks.

Battery-Powered Trucks a 'Big Lift' for Calif. Utility

Recently, SCE took delivery of two lithium-ion-battery-equipped troubleman trucks, so named because they are used by troublemen, experts who are dispatched to investigate the causes of power outages. And, 22 more are on the way, according to the utility. (Photo: Southern California Edison).

Southern California Edison is investing in a new generation of environmentally friendly service trucks whose overhead lifts are powered by the same kind of batteries used in plug-in electric cars, according to the utility.

DOE Commits $137M to Advance Fuel-Efficient Tech

The Energy Department is announcing up to $137 million in investments for two programs designed to develop next-generation fuel-efficiency technologies in commercial and passenger vehicles, including more funding for SuperTruck II.

DFW Airport Gains Carbon Neutral Status

Dallas Fort Worth (DFW) International Airport has reached carbon neutral status partly because the airport converted its fleet to cleaner-burning compressed natural gas (CNG), which has reduced carbon emissions by 25%.

California Awards Fleets $9M for Zero-Emission Trucks
