Bobit Business Media, in partnership with the U.S. Department of Energy’s Clean Cities program, will present the first-ever Green Fleet Car of the Year and the Green Fleet Truck of the Year awards at the Connected Car Expo, which will be held in conjunction with the Los Angeles Auto Show Nov. 18-20, 2014.

A panel of judges from the Clean Cities Coalition and Bobit Business Media will select three finalists for each award from the nominations submitted by all OEMs for each award based on a numerical scoring methodology that incorporates the following criteria:

  • Fuel economy.
  • Petroleum displacement.
  • EPA air pollution score.
  • EPA greenhouse gas score.
  • Passenger capacity (for the Green Fleet Car of the Year Award).
  • Payload capacity (for the Green Fleet Truck of the Year Award).
  • NTHSA safety ratings.

Once the three finalists for each award are selected, the readers of Green Fleet magazine and Automotive Fleet magazines will select (using online voting) the winner of the 2015 Green Fleet Car of the Year award and separately the winner of the 2015 Green Fleet Truck of the Year award.

The two winners will be announced at a special awards luncheon that will be held at the Connected Car Expo (CCE) Nov. 19, 2014.

Recognizing that new technologies are fueling rapid change in the automotive industry, L.A. Auto Show organizers produce the Connected Car Expo, a one-day conference and three-day expo with a dual mission – to showcase innovative companies designing the future of the connected car space and serve as an open forum for attendees to connect with top media and key players shaping the identity and ability of mobility.

In addition to the vehicle awards, Bobit Business Media, in partnership with the Clean Cities program, will announce the winner of “Innovations in Sustainability,” a brand-new award that will be presented to one national fleet and one local fleet, headquartered in the greater Los Angeles metropolitan area.
