Chicago Area Clean Cities Coalition and the Forest Preserves of Cook County are hosting a seminar and ride and drive in River Forest, Ill., centered on electric and hybrid vehicles and charging stations.

Held in the Thatcher Woods Pavilion on July 27, the seminar will feature test drives of new electric and hybrid vehicles, as part of Midwest EVOLVE (Electric Vehicle Opportunities: Learning, eVents, Experience). Midwest EVOLVE is a partnership between the American Lung Association of the Upper Midwest and eight Clean Cities coalitions in the Midwest, according to the coalition.

Midwest EVOLVE events are designed for consumers, government officials, fleet administrators, and dealership personnel to have an opportunity to learn about the environmental benefits of electric and hybrid vehicles, and of charging vehicles at home, at work or at public charging stations.

At the seminar, representatives of the The Forest Preserves of Cook County, a forest preserve district, will highlight eight of its hybrid fleet vehicles and discuss the future of its fleet, as it looks to add plug-in electric and hybrid vehicles as well as vehicle-charging stations.
