Tesla CEO Elon Musk is once again catching the attention of battery-electric enthusiasts with his vague tweet of “About time to unveil the D and something else,” on Oct. 1.

Tesla has scheduled the announcement for Oct. 9 in a special press conference in Los Angeles. Tesla now offers the Model S and will begin production on the Model X later this year.

Sticking to the Tesla nature of being a bit on the secretive side, Tesla hasn’t specified whether the “something else” is a new vehicle or even a second powertrain to the Model S.

Tesla stock increased after the tweet was sent, which is no surprise with Musk’s large following of 1.05 million.

Tesla spokespeople have declined to comment on any details regarding the tweet or the upcoming announcement.
