The American Council for an Energy-Efficient Economy (ACEEE) recently released its "Best of 2014," a listing of the greenest models broken down by class, as well as the overall "Greenest Vehicles of 2014." Topping this year's list is the smart electric drive convertible/coupe.

Rounding out the rest of the list were the Toyota Prius C, Nissan LEAF, Toyota Prius, Honda Civic Hybrid, Lexus CT 200H, Toyota Prius Plug-In Hybrid, Mitsubishi Mirage, Honda Civic Natural Gas, Honda Insight, smart fourtwo, and Volkswagen Jetta Hybrid. The vehicles were rated on emissions and city/highway miles per gallon.

Included in the release is the list of "Greener Choices" for 2014, as well as a look at the past year's market trends.
