BMW has unveiled the Vision Efficientdynamics Concept, a plug-in diesel hybrid supercar concept, reports goodcleantech.com.

The vehicle features a 356 horsepower drivetrain, all-wheel drive and the ability to travel up to 31 miles without kicking into the diesel engine. Additionally, if it performs as promised, it could reach speeds of 155 mph and a 0-60 time in 4.8 seconds.

The automaker says the 2 + 2 four-door vehicle will get 62 miles per gallon. Similar to the Toyota Prius, the Vision Efficientdynamics Concept will emit just 99 grams of CO2 per kilometer. Further BMW said the lithium-polymer battery doesn't require active cooling and will recharge in two and a half hours using 220 volts.
