Moline Wants to Install a 10,000-Gallon E-85 Fuel Tank

August 27, 2008

MOLINE, IL – City officials hope to save Moline money by having its own 10,000-gallon E-85 tank.

It will cost the City $107,836 to install the tank, with Moline-based Illowa Enterprises Inc. doing the work. It is estimated the City will get a return on its investment in 4 1/2 years.

The City has 102 cars in its fleet, of which 52 are flex fuel. The City now saves about $8,000 a year using E-85. The City will reach a decision soon about the installation of its tank at public works.
