When I think of a seven-seat, three-row SUV, I usually wouldn't think it would be nimble. Even five-seat SUVs would have a hard time convincing me they were quick, but that was my experience with the 2017 Q7.

Under the hood, a 3.0-liter supercharged V-6 engine makes 333 horsepower and 325 ft.-lb. of torque that goes to four wheels through an eight-speed automatic transmission. That's more than enough to get you going, even when filled with busy executives and their luggage.

This vehicle isn't exactly fast, but when you consider the size of it, you can't help but be impressed by the way it handles. It never really felt as big as it is. The only time the size of the vehicle really became apparent was in smaller parking lots, but the parking sensors and camera combination made fitting into tight spots easier than you would imagine. The top-view camera system (part of the Vision Package for $2,000) was also helpful in determining whether we were within the space or not.

Speaking of space, there is plenty of room for five adults to fit comfortably and two extra seats in the back for smaller children. There was enough leg room for a 6-foot-2-inch individual to happily sit behind the taller 6-foot-4-inch front passenger without complaint. With the third row seats up, there is 14.8 cubic feet of space, which allowed a couple luggage cases to fit snuggly in the rear. With the third-row seats folded, that increases the interior cargo volume to 37.5 cubic feet and 71.6 cubic feet with the second and third row seats stowed away.

The interior itself is beautifully done, and you can feel the quality surrounding you. The accent lights along the dash and door, panoramic sunroof, nougat brown leather interior, and multiple climate control options add to the whole experience.

The ride is smooth with very little wind and road noise, even at higher speeds. On one of the longer test drives, the two tall individuals mentioned earlier were comfortable enough to fall asleep, which I always view as a nod to the quality of a vehicle's ride.

All in all, this vehicle is perfect for moving executives, whether they're the ones driving or not. There's more than enough space for an individual to get work done or rest between meetings, free from the distractions of imperfect roads.
